High Tea

These beautiful snaps were taken at my close friend's 21st High Tea Party! The table looked absolutely amazing and we tried to snap a few shots before we all started eating and drinking tea! There were so many sweet treats, I made vegetarian rice paper rolls and chocolate truffles ( i wish i had some photos!) The last photo is of me - it was such an enjoyable afternoon and i love looking over the photos.

100,000

'There are over 100,000 dogs living in the streets of Puerto Rico. Why? This documentary is an in-depth investigation about the current situation of animal abandonment in the Island territory'
I watched this 50 minute movie last night about the stray dog problem in Puerto Rico. I was so upset by the state of these poor animals, the lack of government policies dealing with the issue and also I was upset by the fact that I was completely un-informed that anything was happening.
I despise all types of animal cruelty, and although we have cruelty in Australia, we are so lucky we have so many animal refuges where people take it and care for disenfranchised animals, like

Dinner + Inspiration!

Photo No.1: Look how my beautiful veggies went into the oven. They were delicious, and the carrot and parsnip were so sweet! I seasoned with sea salt, cracked pepper, garlic, thyme and parsley.
Photo 2&3: these beautiful babies are cabbage flowers! I saw them at the market this weekend and I think I am in love. They are so pretty, i love the colouring of them and how they still almost look like a cabbage!

Favourite Scents

These are some of my favourite perfumes. 1. Daisy, 2. Lou Lou, 3. Stella, 4. Chloe.
Probably my favourite of all time is Lou Lou. My nan collects the blue bottles that it comes in (she used to get them from garage sales with the perfume still in them!) and then my mum was bought some, my sister has some and now I have been wearing it for the past 5 or so years. Lou Lou also lasts a really long time, i put in on my wrists and the next day (after a shower even) I can still smell it.

Plates, Cups & Lovely Things

These wonderful artworks are by . I discovered Lucy's artwork through a Frankie magazine pull out & I think they are absolutely beautiful! I love all things vintage/retro and eclectic and I think they fit my personal style/taste perfectly. As a newbie blogger, I even emailed Lucy to check it was okay to use them - and she was wonderfully polite! My favourite work is picture 1, I love blue and white willow China. It reminds me of my nan's house, and being at home at my parents, and now I have become addicted to Willow as well.

Salamanca Markets

This morning I went to Salamanca Market in Hobart. I bought some delicious looking veggies to roast for dinner, the pumpkin is actually from my mum's garden and i'm so excited to bake it! I don't eat meat so i thought 4 different kinds of root vegetables would make a substantial meal, plus some roasted garlic heads. In photo 3, i've got the little succulent i bought at the hardware aswell. The photo doesn't really do it justice, it's very cute and furry and has little red tipped leaves. Now I must spend the rest of the day working on an Administrative Law paper, hooray.

A Trip to New Norfolk

One of the best places in Tasmania to visit I think is New Norfolk. I've been on several occasions and always have a ball. Located about 30 minutes out of Hobart, it's filled with the most wonderful array of antique and second-hand stores. The roundhouse antique store (where the photos above where taken) literally takes 2 hours to look around - it's massive and amazing! I love the second photo, this cat (yes it's real!) was just perusing around the store and decided to snuggle up on one of the antique beds. so cute.

A Few Books...

Thought I would share some books with you. I've been reading Farenheit 451 lately, it has taken me a long time because I always get reading guilt (cannot read a novel when I know I have uni reading to do). My next book on my list to read is the Great Gatsby. My boyfriend bought me a copy for my 21st and from what my friends have said, it's meant to be a great and modern classic of a read.

The Antlers 'Two"
a song i had forgotten i even liked and just came on through my ipod in the car.
'daddy was an asshole, he fucked you up.'

Dabbling in Candle-Making, Succulents & Flowers

This assortment of photos were taken on my phone, so i apologise for the poor quality. Lately, i've been having a lot of fun playing around with candles and succulents. I'm actually kind of crazy obsessed with succulents at the moment (as ive been told by family and friends!).
1. These are the soy tea-cup candles that I made! you just buy soy wax from somewhere like Spolight, melt it above bubbling water on a stove (in a metal bowl not touching the water) and then add scent/colour/flowers anything you please! set up your wick in the teacup, pour the wax in & then wait! they were so fun to make and they smell amazing. I havn't burnt mine yet because i think it just looks so pretty as it is.
2. Some of my little succulents!
3. succulents can make a great centerpiece for a dining table. I just picked these ones off near my local beach (looking a bit shifty with a pair of scissors and a tote bag) and popped them in this vase! voila!
4. My pride and joy planter! my mum picked this old wooden crate up for me at our local tip-shop. To make it into a planter i bought some coconut filler (which you can get from your nursery) and filled the box with it. The succulent in the middle i bought, however the rest have been picked.
5.
Some flowers/leaves i picked. I've just used Fowler's Jars to put these flowers in, you should be able to pick them up super cheap at an op-shop or a tip-shop, i just adore them.
6. Growing succulents on my mantlepiece
7. This is my 4 Willow tea-cup set, i scored these 4 at an op-shop for $10 for the set! and they are in perfect condition, not even chipped. I have used wood glue to stick the cup to the saucer and what i plan to do with them is plant them with little succulents. They make really cute gifts. I am planning to sell these at a market near my parents house in Cygnet Tasmania.

Hello Blog-World!

Well hi there. This is my first official blog post, so i thought i would start with some of my own personal photography over the years. I feel slightly nostalgic looking over my photography, as since starting my university degree, photography has taken a bit of a back seat. I hope that people can enjoy these as much as I have in creating them.
